Well I don’t have a ton of time to write this week!
We will have a Zone conference on Valentine’s Day (Trunky!) and I should get mail on Thursday!
Carnival has been going pretty steady for the past few days and will end on tue3sday. Because of Carnival President Lima is asking missionaries to be home at 6pm instead of 9pm. That and the fact that no one is home and the only people on the street are drunk makes working through carnival SUPER difficult but Elder Carlos and I have been working hard trying to find new people to teach and baptize!
My new Greenie is Elder Carlos da Silva and he is super cool! He comes from Recife which is a little north of Rio de Janeiro. He is about 5 feet tall and is super eager to work. Before the mission he was a soldier in the Brazilian Army for a year and wants to continue doing that after the mission.
We taught a great new family this last week. We got to their house and sat down to teach them the restoration of the Gospel. It was Elder Carlos´s first lesson and It was a miracle that we were able to work together semi-easily. We got to the end of the lesson and Elder Carlos invited the family to be baptized and they accepted! The family of three accepted. But they aren’t married so only the daughter will be able to baptized soon probably next week. But when we were teaching it seemed out of nowhere that we were talking about the word of wisdom, tithing and other commandments. But the Spirit was there and they were willing to commit to living the commandments and attending church until they can get married and Baptized!
I am constantly learning that I know nothing! The first week as a senior was probably the hardest week of my mission but we ended well with good experiences. We have a lot to learn and a lot to do, but with the Lord all is possible!
The Lord Lives, and I feel his love every day!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
A fé é tudo!
