Well this week we have had some interesting experiences and some testimony builders!
We had a Zone conference and I have been looking for a lot of guidance as I try and help our investigators move towards baptism and my Greenie to stop dragging his feet. The Conference talked a lot about love and charity. How we need to as missionaries show love for Everyone and especially for the Lord. I have learned that loving people whether it be members or investigators is really hard.
As a missionary you set your focus and all of your thoughts on people. we pray for them we fast for them, and a lot of the time, things don’t go the way we want it to. As followers of Christ we all need to love like he loves us. We get heart broken when people begin to reject our message. It’s hard to see people with hearts set against the gospel. We talk to hundreds of people in the street, trying to share with them what we know is the most important thing for us and for them, and 9 out of ten times they don’t accept it. It is truly heart breaking and it is super easy to get discouraged.
This week however has been one of miracles. After our Zone conference we got a call from a father of a member family who wanted to receive the missionary lessons. We started to talk with him and it was obvious that his marriage is everything but destroyed and so he wants to start putting his life in order. We talked a lot about repentance and that through the Lord; He can forgive us of our sins. Things may not turn out the way we want them to turn out but the Lord will always accept the repentant sinner. We taught the restoration and challenged him to read their book of Mormon and be baptized. He accepted.
Friday we got an interesting call from our ZL´s who told us that they have found a way for our investigators to be married in a week and be baptized on the 24th. They told us to invite them to be baptized the 24th. I felt like there is no way for this to happen, but I decided to trust and obey our leaders and so we invited the family to put their trust in the Lord, be willing to do everything that they can, and be baptized on the 24th. They accepted as well.
It was great to see all of them in church yesterday and see how great the members have interacted with them. Our hopes are high and we are counting on the Lord for miracles this week as we work like “smart donkeys” for these families!
The gospel is true! I know that Christ lives!
Have an Amazing week!
